Introduction

THIS IS OLD - NEEDS REDOING!

Hi my name is Matthew, i'm 28 and I live in England. I have a past history of working within the I.T. field and have run and managed several sites with their I.T. requirements. I have 2 A-level certifications in I.T. Technology and i'm CompTIA Network+ qualified. Outside of work, i'm able to build and maintain a variety of computers running Linux & Windows and i've been building/troubleshooting PC's from scratch since I was 18.

I'm an active game player online and run my own game servers running Team Fortress 2 to players across the globe, which regularly hold up to 32 players at any given time. I'm an avid listener to Trance music and have a large collection of music that i have been collecting since 1999. I regularly listen to Armin Van Buuren's A State of Trance show on Di.fm and keep my music up to date from various Trance sites across the web.

When i'm not listening to Trance music i am working on playing the Piano and have been learning for the last few months. I'm currently taking lessons for playing the Piano with a local teacher who has helped me leaps and bounds. My goal is to be a professional piano player, but i would be happy even if i was just able to play for my own enjoyment.

I.T. And The Internet

THIS IS OLD - NEEDS REDOING!

I've been roaming around on the Internet for the last 7 years (I started on dialup back in 1998 when Xstream Network started offering the first dialup internet access in the UK) and have been messing with IT for the last 12-13 years. One of the worst mistakes I ever made was joining chat rooms on IRC. I spent a good 3 years on them until I realised that there's more to life than chatrooms and decided to leave for good. Although it did have some advantages... i learned to type faster, learned some Linux and amassed quite an MP3 collection for my own personal use! I haven't looked back on leaving chat rooms, it was the best thing I ever did.

This is an official shoutout to all the people i would love to hear from again from the chatrooms over the years:
* Heavenlisky - Claire - I miss talking to you hun, we had some crazy conversations both on the web and over the phone. I lost your phone number over the years from mobile phone upgrades and would love to talk to you again. I can't remember your second name. You worked for a travel agent in London and was on Dalnet IRC chatrooms in about 2000 in #chatworld. Please contact me using my E-Mail link!
* #mp3-techno-dance Operators - You guys were great, great music, some great laughs when we had the channel on Dalnet. After the policy change on Dalnet and the channel moved to another network it was never going to ever be the same again. Those who remember me will remember me running the Eggdrop bots (Leamers and Nicki). Please contact me if you find this page. You know who you are!
* Noodles - Vicki/Vicky - We met during the year of 1998 on the XStream Network and got to know each other really well. You was 15 at the time and i came down to London to meet you for the first time for the weekend in Isleworth. You lived on Morris Road in Isleworth. After that weekend i never saw you ever again and we stopped talking on the chat rooms a few weeks afterwards. Would love to know what you are doing these days and how you're doing. Please contact me using my E-Mail me link.
* Tinu-,{Tinu},SkyHaven - Tina - We got talking a long time ago on IRC. You lived in Canada. Last time we spoke, you was having a child. I still remember your face. We spoke many times on IRC and exchanged many photos. Never did get to see that Canadian winter that sounded so amazing from what you told me. Hope you and the baby are doing ok. I doubt you'll ever see this, but you never know! :)

Lately I've joined a Distributed Search Engine project and i'm putting all my bandwidth into it to help crawl a few million URL's. If you're interested, go take a look at Majestic 12, it's over on the left in the links column.
